Design a catapult system to throw a tennis ball to the maximum distance.

Dimensions:

• 50x50cm in the compressed form of the catapult.
• Maximum weight 5 kg.

This event will test the innovativeness of the participants as well as their technical knowledge.

Rules:

• A team can have maximum of 4 participants.
• Participants will be given a soft tennis ball to be thrown by their catapult.
• The loading of the catapult can be done by the participants manually.
• However, there must be a lock and trigger mechanism which must be remote controlled.
• The team which throws the ball to the maximum distance progresses to the next round.
• In the next round, each team will be given its own fortress.
• Opposing teams will face each other and launch the ball to destroy the opponents’ fortress.
• Teams will earn points for the amount of damage inflicted to the opponents’ fortress.
• Each team will be given only 5 balls to be launched.
• The team which earns the maximum points will be declared the winner.

Note: Use of electric motors for loading the catapult is not allowed.
